CAIRO – 19 September 2019: Paris Saint Germain Argentinean winger, Angel Di Maria, seeked revenge against his former club, Real Madrid, and he got what he wants on Wednesday night at Parc des Princes Stadium in Paris.

The story dates back to 2014 when Real Madrid forced the Argentinean to miss the World Cup Final between his national team and Germany as he was suffering from a muscular injury.

The player asked his club to take pain killers before the game but Real Madrid sent him a letter to prevent him from playing in the Final.

“They didn't want their player to be hurt before selling him, it was that simple.” Di Maria revealed.

The player watched his national team losing the final at the extra time thanks to a goal from Mario Gotze.

During the summer, Real Madrid sold Di Maria to Manchester United and they signed Colombian midfielder, James Rodriguez, from Monaco.

Di Maria cannot forget the moment when he received Real Madrid’s letter, saying “That's the business of football that people don't always see, I asked the doctor to give me the letter, I opened it up and just tore it into little pieces and threw it away."

Di Maria was the French team’s hero during the game as he scored two goals to led his team to defeat Real Madrid 3-0 at the opening game of the UEFA Champions League group stage.

By the way, James Rodriguez was among Real Madrid starting line-up who suffered a humiliating loss in Paris.
