EFA to choose Hassan Shehata as national team coach

CAIRO - 3 September 2019: The Egyptian Football Association committee is about to offer the manager position to Hassan Shehata. FIFA appointed committee which includes five members to run the EFA and choose the next coach for the Egyptian national team.

Shehata is the former coach of the Egyptian team who Previously won with the team in the African Nations Cup in 2006 -2008 – 2010. Also, he won the African Youth Championship in 2003.

Egyptian Football Federation (EFA) officials are considering assigning Egypt general coach position to EhabGalal, the current coach of the Al Masry.

Essam Al-Hadari was also confirmed as coach of the team's goalkeepers within the assisting team of Hassan Shehata, while the position of coach is still in doubt. It will be one of the following names: Abdel Zaher El Sakka, Mohamed Shawky, EmadMeteb and Hosni Abd Rabbo.

Egypt was eliminated from the 16th round of AFCON as South Africa won the game 1-0 thanks to a late goal from their winger, ThembinkosiLorch. Following the game, Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida sacked the Egyptian national team coaching staff on the early hours of Sunday. Abo Rida, as well as many board members, resigned from their position.

Football Federation officials recently announced that the final candidates are EhabGalal, Hossam Al-Badri, Talat Yousef, Hassan Shehata and Tarek el Ashry.
