CAIRO – 19 August 2019: Manchester United manager, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, believes that the team’s French striker, Anthony Martial, can fill the centre forward’s role at the club.

Martial has been handed the number 9 shirt that was taken from his by former Man United manager, Jose Mourinho, following the signing of Belgian striker, Romelu Lukaku who left the club during the summer.

“Now that I've taken the number nine shirt back once again, all he (Solskjaer) has said to me is that I have a lot of responsibility and that I have to score goals, so that's what I'm trying to do," Martial told press.

The French had a great contribution to Manchester United’s 4-0 victory over Chelsea at the Premier League opener, having scored a goal and provided an assist.

Martial added “It's a real pleasure to find myself back in that more central role so I hope I can really help the team from there and go on to score plenty of goals,”

Martial is expected to start for Manchester United against Wolverhampton Wanderers on Monday night at the second round of the Premier League.
