CAIRO – 17 August 2019: Egyptian league champions, Al-Ahly, face Pyramids on Saturday night at the Egyptian Cup round of 16 at Borg El Arab Stadium in Alexandria.

Al-Ahly players seek a revenge against Pyramids as the reds suffered two defeats against the blues at the Egyptian league last season.

The first game ended with a 2-1 victory for Pyramids thanks to two goals from Al-Ahly former players, Mohamed Farouk and Abdallah Elsaid while Walid Azarro scored Al-Aly’s only goal at the game.

Pyramids repeated their victory at the second round with a 1-0 win thanks to a goal from their Brazilian magician, Keno, who left the club this summer.

Al-Ahly players hope to avoid the tragedy of 1972-1973 season when they lost to Al-Ittihad Alexandria three games in one season; two games at the league as well as the Cup final.

Al-Ahly’s expected line-up for the game consists of: Mohamed El Shennawy, Ali Maaloul, Mohamed Hany, Yasser Ibrahim, Ramy Rabia, Amr El Solia, Hamdy Fathy, Saleh Gomaa, Ramadan Sobhy, Hussein El Shahat and Walid Azarro.

Pyramids’ expected line-up for the game consists of: Ahmed El Shennawy, Mohamed Hamdi, Ahmed Mansour, Ali Jabr, Ragab Bakkar, Islam Issa, Nabil Emad, Abdullah Al-Saeed, Eric Traore, Ibrahim Hassan and Ahmed Ali.

The game starts at 8:00 pm.
