CAIRO – 10 August 2019: Liverpool Brazilian goalkeeper, Alisson Becker, suffered a muscular injury during Liverpool’s opening game at the Premier League against Norwich City on Friday night.

The Brazilian was forced to leave the pitch at the first half to be replaced by Liverpool’s new signing, Adrian, who completed the game.

Alisson is expected to miss Liverpool’s clash against Chelsea at the European Super Cup.

“It’s the calf and that’s it. He couldn’t carry on, that’s not a good sign, and we have to see. Wednesday he will not play. With all my experience I can say that already.” Liverpool manager, Jurgen Klopp said after the game.

Liverpool will count on Adrian who joined the club last week and he is expected to guard Liverpool’s goal during Alisson’s injury.

Klopp commented on Adrian’s performance against Norwich, saying “it’s a situation, but if you are in a situation like this you want to have somebody who played the league, who is experienced. He’s 32, he’s a calm guy, good with his feet. So a lot of good things.”

Liverpool, UEFA Champions League winner, face Europa League winners, Chelsea, on Wednesday at European Super Cup.
