CAIRO - 11 June 2017: Hany Abo Rida, the president of Egyptian Football Federation, asked the Egyptian national team members not to make any statement to Qatari BeIN sports network during the Egyptian national team preparations for the opening match of the qualifications for the African Cup of Nations 2019 in Cameroon.

Abo Rida also bared BeIN crew from shooting the Egyptian training session.

This decision entails a penalty for the Egyptian Football Federation because BeIN group has the rights to shoot the training sessions and get statements from the players.

Abo Rida told the press “We took our decision not to deal with them, we will follow the Egyptian government decision to boycott Qatar.”

He added “Egypt’s dignity is more important than financial penalties.”

Abo rida travelled to Tunisia to support the Egyptian national team in their match against Tunisia. He also encouraged the players to play a good game and win this important match.
