CAIRO - 12 July 2019: Tunisia midfielder Ferjani Sassi has been named the best player in his country's match against Madagascar in the African Nations Cup quarter-finals of Egypt 2019.

Tunisia thrashed Madagascar 3-0 on Thursday at Al Salam stadium to qualify to AFCON semi-finals.

Zamalek’s player, Ferjani Sassi, scored the first goal after a deflected shot. Youssef Msakni scored the second goal before Naim Sliti’s third goal in the last minute.

This is considered Tunisia’s first victory. Tunisia didn’t achieve any victory in the tournament till this match; four straight draws.

Tunisia have never reached the semi-final since 2004 when they hosted the tournament.

Following the early exit, the Egyptian media started new campaigns for Egyptian fans to attend the remaining games at the competition.

On the other hand, Zamalek fans do not need campaigns as they announced from the early days that they will attend the Tunisian national team games during the competition to support their beloved Tunisian star, Ferjani Sassi.
