Cairo_ 9 July 2019: Hossam El Badry, Pyramids chairman, revealed on Tuesday that coaching the national team has always been his dream.

"Being the national team manager would be honor, no one from the association contacted me but let's see what happens." El Badry said.

El Badry, Al_Ahly former manager, is one of the candidates to succeed Javier Aguirre as Egypt national team manager.

Aguirre has been sacked from his position following the national team's shocking loss to South Africa at the round of 16 clash.

The Egyptian players let down the fans who packed the Cairo Stadium to support the team.

El Badry added " I will talk with Pyramids board to discuss the situation if I received an official offer."

Egypt, AFCON hosts, suffered an early exit from the tournament after losing 1_0 to South Africa.

EFA President, Hany Abo Rida, as well as many board members, resigned from their position following the loss.

The coaching staff, led by Mexican manager Javier Aguirre, were appointed in 2018 to lead the national team towards achieving the AFCON title.
