CAIRO, 7 July 2019: Minister of Youth and Sports Ashraf Subhi discussed the formation of a committee to manage the Egyptian Football Association after EFA board members resignations.

Egypt lost at their home in the African Cup of Nations for the first time in 33 years against South Africa in the 16th round.

Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida sacked the Egyptian national team coaching staff on the early hours of Sunday.

Abo Rida, as well as many board members, resigned from their position. HazemEmam, Ahmed Shobeir&KaramKurdi resigned from the board of the Egyptian Football Association after Egypt have been eliminated from the 2019 African Nations Cup.

The Youth and Sports ministry discusses with the Egyptian Olympic Committee the possibility of appointing a committee till the EFA elections within 45 days.



A great shock to the Egyptian team as they bid farewell to the African Cup in their home, after standing without doing anything, against South Africa who fought and won a historic victory.

This is the first defeat for Egypt in their home since 1986, when they hosted the tournament.

Egyptian authorities will launch a probe into the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) financial and administrative violations and irregularities, senior officials told Egypt Today on early Sunday.
