CAIRO, 7 July 2019: HazemEmam, Ahmed Shobeir and Karam Kurdi resigned from the board of the Egyptian Football Association after Egypt have been eliminated from the 2019 African Nations Cup.

Egypt lost at their home in the African Cup of Nations for the first time in 33 years against South Africa in the 16th round.

A great shock to the Egyptian team as they bid farewell to the African Cup in their home, after standing without doing anything, against South Africa who fought and won a historic victory.

This is the first defeat for Egypt in their home since 1986, when they hosted the tournament.

Egyptian Football Association President Hany Abo Rida sacked the Egyptian national team coaching staff on the early hours of Sunday.

Abo Rida, as well as many board members, resigned from their position.

Egyptian authorities will launch a probe into the Egyptian Football Association’s (EFA) financial and administrative violations and irregularities, senior officials told Egypt Today on early Sunday.
