CAIRO - 6 July 2019: Senegal's Sadio Mane apologized to his fans and promised to stop shooting penalties.

Liverpool’s player scored Senegal's only goal in the 16th round of African Nations Cup which gave the victory over Uganda, but also missed a penalty that would have ended the match.

The round started with two matches between Morocco vs Benin and Uganda vs Senegal. Benin shocked the world & eliminated Morocco while Senegal defeated Uganda. Senegal & Benin will meet each other in the AFCON quarter-finals.

"I will not be selfish," Mane said after the game. "I will stop shooting penalty after wasting twice so far in the tournament."

"My national team comes first, so I will give the opportunity to another player to shoot penalties if we get it in the future."

Mane is the tournament top scorer with three goals, but he has already missed a penalty against Kenya in their group match.
