AFCON 16th round teams determined, tough clashes and a difficult route for Egypt

CAIRO, 03 July 2019: The Groups stage of the African Nations Cup has ended on Tuesday night and the competing teams were determined to participate in the 16th round.

The AFCON 16th round launches on Friday and extends till next Monday. The quarter-finals will start on Wednesday & Thursday. While the Final game will be on July 19th.

The third place from Group A, B, D and F qualified for the 16th round. They are Democratic Republic of the Congo, Guinea, South Africa and Benin respectively.

Egypt have to take a tough route for the Final match. If we beat South African, the Pharaohs will face Nigeria and Cameroon. And then Algeria will be, possibly, waiting for us in the semi-final.

The 16th round will start on Friday with clash between Morocco and Benin at Al Salam Stadium, followed by Senegal and Uganda at the Cairo Stadium.

On Saturday, a strong clash at the Alexandria Stadium between Cameroon and Nigeria followed by an expected confrontation between Egypt and South Africa at Cairo stadium.

On Sunday, Madagascar play against the DRC at the Alexandria Stadium and Algeria face Guinea at 30 June stadium.

On Monday, the 16th round ends with a clash between Mali against Côte d'Ivoire at the Suez Stadium, followed by a match between Ghana and Tunisia at Ismailia Stadium.

All the matches will be played at 6 pm, followed by the second game at 9 pm.
