CAIRO – 1 July 2019: Egypt defender, Ahmed Hegazi, revealed on Monday that Egypt national team does not fear any team at 2019 Africa Cup of Nations.

“We have to be ready for all the opponents. we play as a collective team and we can stop any team at the competition.” Hegazi told CAF official website.

Hegazi played a massive role in Egypt’s qualification to the second round with three clean sheets.

Hegazi suffered a serious injury at the opening game against Zimbabwe and he had to play the second game against DR Congo with a protective mask.

Hegazi added “All games are difficult and we hope to continue our unbeaten run to win the title.”

Hegazi continued” With all my respect to all teams; Senegal, Algeria and Morocco are the best teams in the competition.”

In front of a full capacity Stadium, Egypt defeated Uganda 2_0 on Sunday night at the last game of the group stage.

Egypt finished the group stage as leaders after achieving three straight victories over Zimbabwe, DR Congo, and Uganda.

Egypt calmed Egyptian fans over the team's ability to go far at the competition with a fine display especially at the last minutes of the first half.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Aston Villa's Elmohamady scored Egypt’s two goals against Uganda.

The top two teams of each group, along with the best four third-placed teams, will reach the second round.

This year’s edition of Africa Cup of Nations is considered the biggest Africa Cup of Nations ever with 24 teams.
