Cairo_30 June 2019: In front of a full capacity Stadium, Egypt defeated Uganda 2_0 on Sunday night at the last game of the group stage.

Egypt finished the group stage as leaders after achieving three straight victories over Zimbabwe, DR Congo, and Uganda.

Egypt calmed Egyptian fans over the team's ability to go far at the competition with a fine display especially at the last minutes of the first half.

Liverpool's Mohamed Salah and Aston Villa's Elmohamady scored Egypt’s two goals against Uganda.

Egypt's goalkeeper, Mohamed Elshenawy, produced a wonderful performance during the game, having stopped all the opponent’s attempts to score.

At 30 June Stadium, Congo destroyed Zimbabwe 4_0 to finish third at the group and revive their hopes to reach the second round.

The top two teams of each group, along with the best four third-placed teams, will reach the second round.

This year’s edition of Africa Cup of Nations is considered the biggest Africa Cup of Nations ever with 24 teams.
