CAIRO - 6 June 2019: Esperance Tunis stated through its official website that they won't leave their rights in the CAF Champions League title after CAF earlier decisions.

The African Football Confederation (CAF) has announced its decision to re-play the final of the African Champions League between Esperance Tunis and Morocco's Wydad Casablanca outside Tunisia in a neutral venue.

“The club’s management will hold an urgent meeting to appeal against Caf’s decision with the relevant international bodies and will take all legal measures to preserve its rights,” Esperance said in a short statement.

Esperance won the 2019 African Champions League in an unfinished Final on the first of June. The match was suspended in the 60th minute as Wydad players refused to complete the match when the referee canceled a goal for the Moroccans & he wasn't able to revise it through VAR as it wasn't working.

Wydad players protested to the Gambian referee, demanding VAR be used, and Confederation of African Football (Caf) president Ahmad Ahmad spent almost 30 minutes in discussions with officials in a bid to get the game restarted.
