Salah’s goals fight Islamophobia in Liverpool

CAIRO – 3 June 2019: Stanford University’s Immigration Policy Lab revealed on Monday that Liverpool witnesses an increase in familiarity with Islam since the club signed their Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, from AS Roma in 2017.

“The survey experiment suggests that these results may be driven by increased familiarity with Islam, “ the report said.

Salah has been sensational with Liverpool and he has been a key player in the evolution of the club under their German manager, Jurgen Klopp.

Salah is one of the most popular player in the squad and he is known for his kind attitude with the club fans who describe him as the “Egyptian King”.

The report also revealed that “By watching games, post-game interviews, promotional videos released by the club, and content on Salah’s social media pages, fans are exposed to rich information about Salah’s life on and off the field.”

Salah won the Premier League Golden Boot Award twice in a row and he led his team to win the UEFA Champions League title this season.

The report continued “Viewers see what a Muslim prayer looks like, perhaps for the first time, when Salah scores,”

Salah opened the score after two minutes from the penalty spot and Liverpool Belgian striker, Divock Origi, added the second goal before the final whistle to secure his team’s victory.
Liverpool have had an outstanding season which ended with achieving the Champions League title.

Liverpool’s victory put an end to 14 years of suffering in Europe as the team’s last European title was in 2005 when they defeated AC Milan on penalty-shootouts after the game ended with a 3-3 draw in Istanbul and their historic captain, Steven Gerrard, lifted the club’s fifth Champions League title.

Liverpool were also sensational at the domestic league as they reached 97 points but finished second behind the winners, Manchester City who reached 98 points.
