CAIRO - 30 May 2019: Zamalek official social platforms chose their midfielder & warrior, Tarek Hamed, as the best player in the CAF Confederations Cup.

"The Confederation player is our player, Tarek Hamed," Zamalek official account on Twitter posted.

A new Zamalek history was made on Sunday night when the team won the CAF Confederation Cup title for the first time in the history of the club.

Zamalek, led by Swiss manager, Christian Gross, won the title as they defeated Morocco's RS Berkane on penalty-shootouts after the regular time ended with a 1-0 win for Zamalek who equalized their 1-0 loss at the first leg in Morocco.

Gross became the 9th manager in the history of the club to win a continental title and he put an end to 16 years of trophy drought on International level as Zamalek's last African title was in 2003 when they defeated Wydad Casablance to win the African Super Cup title.

Zamalek seek winning all the next games in order to keep their hopes in achieving the Egyptian league title.
Al Ahly tops the league with 74 points from 32 games while Zamalek come third with 66 points from 29 games.
