CAIRO – 7 May 2019: Former English International, Gary Neville, revealed on Tuesday that he believes there are five players in Liverpool who are behind the team’s performance this season.

Neville said “Liverpool’s squad depth has been criticised all season. The likelihood for me is that if Liverpool had suffered with injuries, they would have struggled.”

Liverpool have had one of their best seasons despite being on the prink of ending the season with no titles.

He added “(Mohamed) Salah, (Roberto) Firmino and (Sadio) Mane have been almost ever-present. So have (Virgil) van Dijk and Alisson Becker.”

Liverpool are second at the league with 94 points, one point behind the leaders, Man City.

At Champions League, Liverpool host Barcelona on Tuesday night at UEFA Champions League semi-finals second leg at Anfield.

Liverpool players are searching for a miracle to reach the final after losing the first leg in Spain 3-0 thanks to a goal from former Liverpool player, Luis Suarez and two goals from Barca captain, Lionel Messi.
