Zamalek players celebrate winning the League - File
CAIRO - 06 May 2019: Zamalek’s Basketball team defeated Al Gezira 87-66 to be the Egyptian Super League Champions.
The Super League's semi-final is being held by the "Best of 5", where the winner of three matches qualifies for the final.
Zamalek won the first and second matches before AL Gezira returned and won the third and fourth matches to decided the winner in the fifth match.
Zamalek dominated the game from the first quarter until the last minute in the match held at the Youth and Sports Hall in the city of 6th of October.
Zamalek have won the 14th title as the second most winning team in Egypt after Ittihad Alexanderia.
The Zamalek title is the first for the white club in 12 years, after winning the title in 2007.
The stands witnessed the attendance of former Zamalek football club players, Mahmoud Abdel Razek ‘Shikabala’ and Abdelwahed El Sayed, former goalkeeper.
