Mohamed Salah to be assessed after Newcastle injury
CAIRO - 06 May 2019: The Egyptian national team’s general coach, Hany Ramzy, assured that Mohamed Salah’s injury isn’t as dangerous as it seems.
Salah was stretchered off after challenging Newcastle goalkeeper Martin Dubravka for a high ball with scores level 20 minutes from time.
“Any injury for Salah disturbs the coaching staff,” Hany Ramzy said to ON Sport.
“We tried to talk with Salah after the match, also Egyptian national team’s doctor contacted Liverpool’s doctor after the match. It’s a protocol between the national team coaching staff and all the clubs of our players,” Ramzy added.
"Head injuries are always worrying, so Mohammed Salah will have a CT scan to check on his condition," the coach said.
Salah, who had extended his lead in the race for the Golden Boot earlier in the game with his 22nd league goal of the season, will undergo further tests to assess his fitness for Barca's visit to Anfield on Tuesday and the final day of the league season against Wolves on next Sunday.
