CAIRO - 8 June 2017: Egyptian women under 16 Basketball team finished the qualifying round of the 5th zone, and qualified for the African Nations Cup scheduled in August.

The team is supposed to arrive in Egypt Thursday morning from Kenya after winning the first place in the African Zone number 5 and qualified for the African Championship in Mozambique next August.

The women's basketball team won the qualifying tournament and the first place after winning the three matches against Kenya (the hosting country), Rwanda and Tanzania with a big difference between the Egyptian team and the other teams.

The basketball team consists of 14 players: Injy Salah, Jana Haitham, Hana Nabil, Salma Hisham, Fatima Hany, Yara Usama, Jannat Allah Medhat, Sali Omar, Noor Sharif, Malak Khaled, Habiba Hatem, Nouran Khaled, Reem Ali, Nada Yasser and head of the Egyptian team Nabil Hafez as member of the Board of Directors of the Egyptian Basketball Union along with Coach Mohamed Hamid .

Egypt will host the World Youth Cup July 1-9 at the Cairo Stadium, with the participation of 16 teams.
