Decisive African goals in the Champions league finals

Cairo 7 June 2017: African footballers have shown their ability to compete on the highest levels of European football especially in the UEFA Champions League, the most competitive league in Europe.

There have been three African players which have scored decisive goals for their teams in the final match.

1-Rabah Madjer:-

The first African player to score a goal in the Champions league final was the Algerian forward Rabah Madjer.
Madjer player for Porto in 1987 and participated in the final against Bayern Munich. Madjer scored the equalizer in 77th minute and he also scored an assist for Porto’s second goal three minutes later.
Porto won the match 2-1 and became the Champions League winner for the first time.

2-Samuel Eto’o:-

Samuel Eto’o is one of the best strikers to have played in Europe. He won the champions league three times with two different teams; twice for Barcelona in 2006 and 2009 and once for Inter Milan in 2010.
Eto’o scored two goals in the Champions League final. The first was in 2006 when his team Barcelona played against Arsenal, Eto’o scored the equalizer that helped his team win the match 2-1.
His second goal was in the Champions league final in 2009 when Barcelona played against Manchester United , Eto’o scored shortly after the match began, and Barcelona won the title with a 2-0 victory.

3-Didier Drogba:-

Didier Drogba has had a long Journey with European football but his best days were in London with Chelsea. Drogba’s most memorable moment with Chelsea was in 2012 when he scored the equalizer in the match against Bayern Munich just two minutes before the final whistle.
Drogba also scored the last penalty in the penalty shootout which clinched his team’s victory and propelled them to their first-ever Champons League victory.
African players still shine in Europe and they prove that Africa is a great factory for football players.
