Chile is first to arrive in Russia for Confederations cup

CAIRO – 7 June 2017: Chile’s national football team arrived in Moscow Tuesday for participating in the Confederations Cup as the champion of South America and it is the first time for Chile to participate in the tournament.

The Chilean squad for confederations cup contains most of the players who have won Copa-America in July 2015: Charles Aranguiz (Bayer Leverkusen), Claudio Bravo (Manchester City), Nicolas Castillo (Pumas UNAM), Marcelo Diaz (Celta Vigo), Paulo Diaz (San Lorenzo), Felipe Gutierrez (Internacional), Pedro Pablo Hernandez (Celta Vigo), Mauricio Isla (Cagliari), Gary Medel (Inter), Eugenio Mena (Sport Recife), Edson Punch (Necaxa), Enzo Roco (Cruz Azul), Martin Rodriguez (Cruz Azul), Alexis Sanchez (Arsenal), Francisco Silva (Cruz Azul), Eduardo Vargas (Tigres UANL), Arturo Vidal (Bayern.)

Confederations Cup will be held in Russia this month and as well as hosting the World Cup next year. There will be 2 groups with 4 teams in each group, group A will consist of Russia the host country, New Zealand winner of Oceania Football Confederation nations cup 2016, Portugal the UEFA Euro winner 2016 and Mexico CONCACAF cup winners 2015, and group B contains Cameroon African cup nation champion 2017, Australia AFC Asian cup winner 2015, Germany World Cup winner 2014 and Chile
