CAIRO – 3 April 2019: Zamalek face Smouha on Wednesday night at Petro Sport Stadium during the Egyptian League.

Zamalek hopes to return to the Egyptian League summit after they lost it for the first time on Tuesday when their arch rivals, Al-Ahly, defeated Al Ittihad 2-0.

Zamalek manager, Christian Gross, ruled the team’s left back, Abdallah Gomaa, for the squad that faces Smouha for rest and Bhaa Magdy is expected to replace him.

On the other hand, Zamalek defenders, Mahmoud Alaa and Hamdi Naguez, returned to the team squad after they missed the clash against Al-Ahly at Cairo Derby on Saturday for injury.

Zamalek’s expected starting line-up for the game consists of: Mahmoud Gennes, Mahmoud Alaa, Mahmoud El Wensh, Hamdi Naguez, Bhaa Magdy, Tarek Hamed, Fergani Sassi, Youssef Obama, Mahmoud Kaharaba, Khaled Boutaib and Ahmed Zizo.

On the other hand, Smouha, led by Hossam Hassan, hopes to escape from relegation area as they come 15th at the league with 25 points.

Egyptian Football Federation Referees committee announced that Portuguese referee, João Pereira, will take charge of the game and he will assisted by Pedro Mota and Bruno Rodriguez.

Al-Ahly is leading the Egyptian League table with 55 points, one point ahead of their rivals, Zamalek.
