CAIRO – 6 June 2017: Thailand will host the Moto GP World championship from 2018 through 2020, the Sports Authority of Thailand (SAT) announced Monday.

SAT posted on its official Facebook account that it reached an agreement with Dorna Sports, the commercial company that owns Moto GP, in negotiations in Italy last weekend.

“The race is expected to be held at Buriram International Circuit from October 5-7 2018. The event will be organized before the races in Japan, Australia and Malaysia and there will be 20 MOTO GP races next year including three new circuits (Thailand – Kazakhestan – Finland) ,” Bangkok Post’s official website said.

Moto GP, the premier motorcycle racing World Championship, includes eighteen-race series divided amongst various countries and multiple continents with riders from all over the world.

“Italian Giacomo Agostini has the Moto GP record of winnings with 122 races in the period from 1964 to 1977. His fellow citizen Valentino Rossi comes in second place with 114 winnings from 1996 up to now,” Moto GP’s official website said.
