CAIRO - 10 March 2019: The Egyptian Olympic Football Team defeated Malawi 2-0 in a friendly game held in Cairo, in preparation for the African Cup of Nations U-23.

Egypt will host AFCON U-23 next November which qualifies for the TOKYO Olympic Games in 2020.

The Pharaohs scored two goals in the last minute from each half. Osama Galal scored the first goal from the penalty spot and Youssef el-Gohary doubled the score in the second half.

The coaching staff headed by manager, Shawki Gharib, set a program in preparation for the AFCON U-23 which started by a training camp in March.

The Olympic team's delegation will head to Spain to continue the program which lasts until March 27.

Egypt is set to meet Netherlands Olympic team and the other two games are not scheduled yet.

Egypt's Olympic team faced many teams in the past year including UAE, Saudi Arabia, Tunisia, Algeria and Russia.
