CAIRO – 6 March 2019: Ajax manager, Erik ten Hag, revealed his happiness after the amazing 4-1 victory his team achieved over Real Madrid in Spain at UEFA Champions League.

Real Madrid entered the game as favorites after a 2-1 victory over the Dutch team in Amsterdam and needed a draw or a 1-0 loss to win direst qualification to the quarter finals.

“It's a historic victory of incredible importance; it's almost unthinkable, almost nobody believed it could happen,” Ten Hag said after the game.

The Dutch team victory happened thanks to four goals from Hakim Ziyech, David Neres, Dusan Tadic and Lasse Schone while Marco Asencio scored Madrid’s only goal.

Ten Hag added "We performed really well in transition and defended incredibly; all the boys have been fantastic and I'm very happy for Ajax and Dutch football."

Ajax reached UEFA Champions League quarter finals for the first time since 2003.

For many fans, it is the end of an era in which Real Madrid dominated Europe by winning three Champions League titles.
