CAIRO – 5 March 2019: Ajax Dutch youngster, Frenkie de Jong, revealed on Tuesday that he dreams of eliminating the UEFA Champions League's defending champions, Real Madrid, out of the competition.

The Dutch team hopes to shock Real Madrid in front of their fans when they meet on Tuesday night at the UEFA Champions League round of 16 second leg despite losing 2-1 at the first leg in Netherlands.

“Eliminating Real Madrid would be amazing. They go into the game as favorites as they are playing at home and with the win against us in Amsterdam,” De Jong told press ahead of the game.

The Dutch midfielder signed a five year contract with Real Madrid’s arch rivals, Barcelona, in the winter and he is set to join the Catalan team in the summer.

“When I was signing my deal, many said to me "do your best to eliminate Real Madrid; that would be great for Barça,” he added.

Ajax played a fantastic game in Holland but Real Madrid’s experience granted them the victory thanks to two goals from Karim Benzema and Marco Asencio.

The game starts at 10 p.m.
