CAIRO – 28 February 2019: Liverpool Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah, sent a message to support the families of the train crash victims.

“Condolences to the families of the victims of the train accident in Egypt and I wish quick recovery for all the injured,” Salah tweeted on Wednesday.

This morning a train locomotive rammed into the buffer stop at the end of the rail tracks at Ramses Railway Station, the main railway station of Cairo, causing a huge fire which left 20 people killed and 42 injured.

Heavy black smoke was seen billowing from the building in central Cairo.

Immediately, security forces completely halted all movement and closed off the site with ambulances and firefighters nearby to control the situation and transfer the injured to the nearest hospitals.

Salah prepares with his teammates to face Watford on Wednesday night at the Premier League.

Liverpool are leading the Premier League table with 66 points, one point ahead of the defending champions, Manchester City.
