2019 Pentathlon African Championships to kick in Cairo Saturday

CAIRO, Feb 22 (MENA) - The 2019 Pentathlon African Championships, qualifying for the Olympic Games Tokyo 2020, will kick in Cairo Saturday.

In statements Friday, President of the Egyptian Modern Pentathlon Federation (EMPF) Sherif el Erian said Cairo is ready to host the event.

The winners of men and women competitions will directly pick seats at Tokyo 2020, he added.

Eight Egyptian athletes participate in the tournament.

Later, Cairo will host the UIPM 2019 Pentathlon World Cup from February 27 to March 3.
