Lasarte during his presentation as Al-Ahly new manager, Egypt Today
CAIRO _ 11 February 2019: Al-Ahly Uruguayan manager, Martin Lasarte, revealed on Monday that his team expects a tough clash against Simba in Tanzania despite Al-Ahly’s 5-0 victory over Simba in Alexandria.
“It is a different game and it will not be easy despite our victory in Alexandria,” Lasarte told press on Monday.
Al-Ahly is leading the group with seven points from two victories at home and a draw against JS Saoura in Algeria.
Lasarte added, "Our strategy is to gain as many points as we can to reach the next round.”
Al-Ahly midfielder, Hesham Mohamed, spoke during the press conference about the difficult circumstances that face the team, saying “We are playing every three days but it is our destiny because we play in many competitions.”
Al-Ahly played on Friday against Haras El-Hodoud at the League and travelled on Sunday to Tanzania to face Simba at the CAF Champions League.
Mohamed added, “We hope to win and secure qualification to the next round.”
The game is scheduled for Tuesday at 3 p.m. (C.L.T)
