CAIRO – 2 January 2018: Egyptian manager, Ahmed Hossam known as Mido, has been named the manager of the week at Saudi Arabian League.

Mido led his team, Al Wehda, to defeat Al-Ahli 2-1 thanks to a late goal from their Brazilian striker, Marcos Guilherme.

Mido has been appointed as the club’s technical advisor until the end of the season and they announced later that he will be the club manager till they sign a new manager.

Mido’s had a disasterous start with the team as they lost to Alfaisaly but he bounced back against Al-Ahli and led Al Wehda to achieve their first ever victory over Al Ahli at the League.

“The board offered me to stay as the team manager and most likely I will accept their offer. Being manager in Saudi Arabian League is a great chance.” Mido told Radio station, 9090, on Tuesday.

Mido’s first signing as Al Wehda manager was Kasongo Kabongo who joined the club from Zamalek on a loan until the end of the season.

Al Wehda are sixth at the League table with 24 points from 7 victories, 3 draws and they lost five games.
