CAIRO – 19 December 2018: Manchester United shocked football world on Tuesday when they announced that they sacked their experienced Portuguese manager, Jose Mourinho, following the team’s poor start of the season.

The Portuguese manager commented on the club’s decision saying "Manchester United is past. Manchester United has a future without me and I have a future without United."

United’s decision followed the team’s 3-1 loss to Liverpool at the North West Derby on Sunday night. The loss that sent Liverpool to the top of the League table and they are 19 points ahead of sixth placed, Manchester United.



Mourinho added” Until I get back to football I think I have my right to live my life like I do now,”

The English team announced on Wednesday that former Manchester United striker, Ole Gunnar Solskjaer, was appointed as the club caretaker manager.

Mourinho appointed as Manchester United manager in 2016 summer and everyone expected the team to regain their form at the League and European competitions.

Mourinho led United to achieve EFL Cup and UEFA Europa League title in 2017 but he failed to win any title in his second season.

Mourinho’s third season was a disaster for the team fAns who found their arch rivals, Manchester City and Liverpool, in the battle for the title while their team failed to establish themselves as title contenders.
