Cairo, 25 November 2018: Mohamed el-Shorbagy claimed the 2018 Hong Kong Squash Open title for the fourth time in his career and the second in a row.

El-Shorbagy beat his compatriot Ali Farag 3-0 in a 39-minutes game, 11/6, 11/7 and 11/7.

The Egyptian champion equalized other Egyptian legend, Amr Shabana, record of winning the Asian tournament.

On the other hand, Raneem el-Welily lost the Women’s final for the fourth time in her career and the second in a row.

El-Welily lost to New Zealand’s Joelle King in a 50-minutes game, 0-3.

The Egyptian girl guaranteed her leadership in the World’s squash best players list for December's ranking.

El-Shorbagy spoke to PSA official website expressing his happiness after winning the title for the fourth time.

“I’m really pleased to be able to come here and play my best squash,” said ElShorbagy.

“It’s always great when it all comes together. I’m really proud of my performance but not to take anything away from Ali, I have nothing but respect for him. He came to the tour later than all of us and came up the rankings very fast. Very few people can do what he did and he’s coming after me, but I’m trying to hold him a little bit.

“We’ve played twice already this season, he beat me once and now I’ve beaten him. I’m sure we will have many more battles and compete in more finals.”
