CAIRO – 5 November 2018: Al-Ahly French manager, Patrice Carteron, announced on Monday, Nov. 5 the team squad for the second leg of CAF Champions League final in Tunisia against Espérance.
Al-Ahly veterans, Ahmed Fathy and Hesham Mohamed, were ruled out of the squad for injury and Carteron picked Nasser Maher and Bassem Ali to replace them.

Carteron’s chosen squad for the game consists of:

Goalkeepers: Sherif Ekramy, Mohamed el-Shennawy, Ali Lotfi
Defenders: Mohamed Hany, Salif Coulibaly, Saad Samir, Ayman Ashraf, Bassem Ali, Sabry Rahil
Midfielders: Hossam Ashour, Amr el-Sulaya, Akram Tawfik, Karim Nedved, Islam Mohareb, Ahmed Hamoudi, Walid Soliman, Mido Gaber, Ahmed Hamdi, Nasser Maher
Forwards: Salah Mohsen, Marwan Mohsen, Walid Azaro

Al-Ahly achieved a 3-1 victory at the first leg in Alexandria; however, the team coach, Mohamed Yousef, believes that they have to fight at the second leg to clinch the title.

“We have not won the title yet. We still have 90 minutes to play against a tough opponent in a difficult atmosphere,” Youssef told press.

Al-Ahly looks to achieve the ninth African title after they failed to reap the title last season when they got defeated by Morocco’s Wydad Casablanca in the final.
