CAIRO – 4 November 2018: Al-Ahly’s delegation flies to Tunisia on Tuesday morning to prepare for the expected clash against Esperance Sportive.

Al-Ahly decided the first leg by a 3-1 victory over the Tunisian team thanks to Walid Soliman’s brace and Amr El-Soleya goal.

Al-Ahly starts the training sessions on Sunday before they end the preparations in Egypt on Monday evening.

On the other hand, Al-Ahly’s general coach, Mohamed Youssef, contacted Egypt’s ambassador in Tunisia regarding the last preparations to host the Egyptian delegation.

The first-leg witnessed controversial actions from the Algerian referee, Mehdi Abid, as he gave three penalties (two for Al-Ahly and one for ES Tunis) through VAR.

The Tunisians were not pleased by Abid’s decisions after the match; the Tunisian fans threatened Al-Ahly to face the same threats in the second leg.

"We will go to Tunisia to play football, the people in Egypt love the Tunisian people and vice versa,” Youssef said.

“We have great relations with ES Tunis. We have been facing them almost every season since 2009.” Youssef concluded.

Al-Ahly’s officials, headed by president Mahmoud el-Khatib, asked for special measures in Tunisia.
