CAIRO – 15 October 2018: Egypt national team manager Javier Aguiree revealed on Monday that he trusts the players’ ability to achieve victory on Tuesday against eStwani at 2019 African Cup of Nations’ qualifiers, despite Mohamed Salah’s absence.

“Salah is a world-class player and he is very important to us; we will miss him at the game, but we have many talented players that can replace him.” Aguirre told press on Monday.

Salah led the national team to defeat eSwatini 4-1 and scored the fourth goal at the last minute of the first half from a direct corner kick. Salah picked a muscle injury and left the pitch two minutes before the final whistle.

Aguirre added, “We scored 10 goals at the last two games and we are the top goal scoring team at the qualifiers, but it does not mean we will score many goals tomorrow. It is a tough game and both teams want to achieve victory.”

Aguirre, who was appointed national team manager on August, led the national team to achieve two home victories over Niger 6-0 and eStwani 4-1.

Egypt plays in Group J alongside Tunisia, Niger and eSwatini, and they are at the second position at the group after two victories and a loss against Tunisia.
