CAIRO – 9 October 2018: Youth and Sports Minister, Ashraf Sobhy, honored Tuesday, Oct. 9 Reem Ashraf, who broke the world's record for the longest dive.

Fourteen-year-old Reem succeeded to stay for two days and seven hours (55 hours) under water in the Gulf of Aqaba, Sharm El-Sheikh.

The youth and sports minister expressed his happiness with the achievement of the Egyptian girl. Reem wrote her name in the Guinness World Records after surpassing the Australian, Christine Coyle, who also had a brilliant number (15 hours).

Reem started the contest in Sharm El-Sheikh on Wednesday, Oct. 3 and ended it on Friday, Oct. 5 at 2 p.m. She was eating, drinking water, sleeping and even playing at a depth of 8 meters.
