CAIRO – 18 September 2018: Swedish footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic made history with his outstanding 500th goal at the American football league competitions on Sunday, September 16.

The Los Angeles Galaxy player scored his goal in a match against the Toronto team in the 43th minute before the half time, when the 36-year-old player got a long and high pass from his teammate right before performing an eye-catching flying kick with his heel, resulting in him scoring the first goal for his team during the match versus 3 goals from Toronto.

However, Los Angeles Galaxy lost the match with a final result of 3-5.

“I'm happy for Toronto, because they’ll be remembered as my 500th victim,” Ibrahimovic told the press after the match. He also stated that his number of goals exceeded the total number scored by players during the last match.

As a reaction to his achievement, David Beckham congratulated Ibrahimovic through his official Twitter account, saying that “500 goals! That makes you really, really old!”

Paul Pogba, a French footballer at Premier League club in Manchester United, congratulated his ex-teammate for his achievement through Pogba’s official Instagram account. “I tell you to play football and you watch too much Jackie Chan, Jet Li and Bruce Lee,” Pogba commented on Ibrahimovic’s last goal.

Ibrahimovic is the 28th player to score over 500 goals during his career, and the third player running player to score 500 goals after Cristiano Ronaldo (678 goals) and Lionel Messi (648 goals).
