CAIRO – 8 August 2018: Al-Ahly’s assistant manager, Mohamed Youssef, believes that the early goal from Al-Ahly Malian defender, Salif Coulibaly, helped the team achieve their first victory at the League this season.

“It is always tough to play against Al-Masry but the early goal from Coulibaly helped us control the game and achieve the victory,” Youssef told the press after the game.

Al-Ahly defeated Al-Masry 2-0 on Tuesday night at Borg El Arab stadium thanks to two goals from Coulibaly and Walid Azarro.

Al-Ahly players reconciled their fans after a frustrating start at the opening game of the season against Ismaily that ended with a 1-1 draw.

Al-Ahly winger, Mido Gaber, had a great night against Al-Masry and dominated the left flank; the player revealed after the victory that he is doing everything to establish himself at the starting line-up.

“I am happy with the manager’s trust and I train very hard to be ready to help the team during the games,” Gaber said.

Al-Ahly players are preparing for their first game at the Arab Club Champions Cup round of 32 first leg against Lebanon’s Nejmeh on Monday.
