CAIRO – 20 July 2018: Al-Ahly midfielder Islam Mohareb revealed on Thursday that he is happy with the new-founded trust of Al-Ahly’s new manager Patrice Carteron. Mohareb played a great role in Al-Ahly’s 3-0 victory over Botswana’s Township Rollers.

“I am so happy with the victory over Township. It brought us back to the right track at CAF Champions League and it will be a great motivation for us in the upcoming games,” Mohareb told Al-Ahly’s official website on Tuesday after the match.

Mohareb, 26, started the game on the bench and eventually replaced Junior Ajayi at Al-Ahly’s attacking line. The player gained his manager’s trust when he scored Al-Ahly’s third goal at the game that secured their first victory at the group.

Mohareb added: “We all have the desire to achieve the CAF Champions League title and return to participate at the FIFA Club World Cup.”

Azarro opened the score after 36 minutes and Ali Maaloul doubled the score 15 minutes before the final whistle. Mohareb added the third goal four minutes later to achieve their first victory under their new manager.

Al-Ahly will face Township Rollers F.C. in Botswana on July 28 in the fourth round Group A in the CAF Champions League.
