CAIRO – 20 July 2018: FIFA Disciplinary Committee issued a warning to Zamalek after they failed to cover the overdue payments of their former player Alexis Enam Mondomo.

“The club Zamalek Sporting Club, Egypt, was sanctioned with a fine of CHF 25,000 and given a final deadline of 60 days to pay the outstanding amounts,” the FIFA statement said.

Zamalek are in the risk of being banned from transfers alongside Qatar's Al Arabi Sports Club, Qatar's Al Kharaitiyat, UAE's Al Jazira SC, Turkey's Mersin İdman and Russia's FC Kuban.

The FIFA statement added: “The club will face an automatic deduction of six points and the automatic imposition of a transfer ban for two entire and consecutive registration periods if it fails to meet the final deadline.”

Cameroonian midfielder Mondomo joined Zamalek in 2011 from Tunisian giants Club Africain, where he played between 2007 and 2011.

The player failed to shine with the Egyptian club and he left in 2013 to join Saudi club Al Raed.

Egyptian Football Federation was also fined CHF 50,000 after playing a friendly game against Kuwait.
