CAIRO – 27 June 2018: Egyptian Football Association President, Hany Abo Rida, revealed on Wednesday that Mohamed Salah was not used by Chechnya leader, Ramzan Kadyrov.

“The English press was behind this controversy. The embassy did not warn us from accepting Kadyrov’s invitation. Salah is a world class player and Kadyrov, like all the people in Chechnya, is a big fan of him,” Abo Rida said.

The English press criticized Salah after posing with Chechnya’s controversial leader, Kadyrov, who also made Salah an honorary citizen of the Chechen Republic.
