24 Egyptian medals in 2018 Mediterranean games

CAIRO – 26 June 2018: Hisham Nasr, the head of the Egyptian delegation in the 2018 Mediterranean Games, said on Monday that the Egyptians have collected 23 medals so far.

Nasr said in a phone call to "Hona Al Asema" TV show that the 23 medals include seven gold, seven silver, and nine bronze medals, adding that Egyptian weightlifter, Sara Samir, is expected to add another gold medal to the Egyptian medals. Nasr also mentioned that the female players' participation has significantly risen compared to the previous edition of the same tournament.

On Tuesday, June 26, Egyptian weightlifter Sara Samir won the gold medal at the 2018 Mediterranean games, raising the Egyptian gold medals to eight medals.

Previously, the Egyptian male wrestlers managed to win three medals; Haitham Mahmoud won the gold medal in the 60 kg competitions, Mohamed Ibrahim won the silver medal in the 60 kg competitions, and Ahmed Hassan won the bronze medal in the 97 kg competitions.
