CAIRO - 23 June 2018: Egyptian Liverpool winger, Mohamed Salah, was awarded an honorary citizenship from Chechnya’s government at a farewell banquet held for the Egyptian Football Association and the national team.

There are no matches at the World Cup in Chechnya, but the Egyptian national team is based in Grozny, the capital of Chechnya.

The Egyptian national team bid farewell to the most important football tournament after it lost the first two matches; the first was against Uruguay which ended by Egypt’s loss 1-0 with a goal in the last minutes of the game, while in the second match the Egyptians lost 3-1 with the participation of Salah.

Egypt will face Saudi Arabia next Monday, the team which also failed to qualify to the next round after it lost from Uruguay and Russia, as well.
