CAIRO – 14 June 2018: Egypt national team manager, Hector Cuper, confirmed Egyptian winger, Mohamed Salah’s participation at the World Cup opener against Uruguay.

“I can almost assure you 100 percent he will play, barring any unforeseen factors at the last moment. Salah is doing very well indeed, he’s recovered very quickly,” Cuper spoke during the pre game press conference.

Salah recovered from the shoulder injury he picked after a tangle with Sergio Ramos in the Champions League final against Real Madrid. He left the game after 30 minutes and watched Liverpool's 3 -1 loss from the dressing room.

“We're trying to make him feel confident, the doctors are giving him the options to play or not. If he does decide to play, he'll have full guarantees on his physical condition and I'm sure he will be fine,” Cuper added.

Egypt will face Uruguay on Friday at 2 p.m. (CLT) at their first game at the World Cup.
The World Cup draw put Egypt in Group A alongside Uruguay, Saudi Arabia and the host nation, Russia.

Egypt will appear at the World Cup for the third time in history and the first time since 1990.
