Egyptian players reap 5 new medals in African Fencing Championship

CAIRO – 9 June 2018: Egyptian players reaped five medals in the African Fencing Championship held in Tunis, Tunisia.

In men’s competitions, Egyptian players Mohamed Aamer achieved the silver medal, Mohab Samir reaped the Bronze medal in the same competition which was won by the Tunisian Mohamed Ayoub Ferjany who got the gold medal.

In women’s competitions, three medals were won by the Egyptian women. Yara el-Sharkawy won the silver medal, while Noha Hany and Noura Mohamed won the bronze medals. Tunisian champion Inas Bakry achieved the gold medal.

Alaa Abo Al-Kassem and AyaMedany won the gold medals in the same competition on June 5.

The African Fencing Championship serves as a zone championship for the Fencing World Cup run.

Egypt is on the top of the All Time Medal table with 183 medals; 58 gold medals, 50 silver medals, 73 bronze medals.
