CAIRO – 4 June 2018: Karim Benzema, Real Madrid's French striker, arrived in Hurghada on Monday to spend his summer vacation; Benzema was not included in France's final squad participating in the Russian World Cup scheduled for June 14.

Benzema’s visit to Egypt comes as part of the efforts to boost tourism during the upcoming summer season; the player is supposed to open a resort in Marsa Alam which lays on the Red Sea coast.

The French came to Egypt crowned with the most valuable clubs tournament in the world, UEFA Champions League, where he scored the first goal for his team in the match that ended by a 3-1 victory for Real Madrid.

The 30-year old striker will not be representing his country in this year’s World Cup which will be hosted by Russia. Also, Dedier Deschamps, France’s head coach, didn’t call-up Anthony Martial, Manchester United’s attacking midfielder.
