CAIRO – 14 May 2017: The Cairo giant Al-Ahly sports club broke a 0-0 draw with Zambian champions Zanaco SC at Borg El-Arab Stadium in the CAF Champions League Group D opener, Saturday.

The open first five minutes of the match witnessed an early scoring chance for Al-Ahly; but the Ivorian striker Souleymane Coulibaly headed off target.

The hosts failed to pose a threat in the field;, they fruitlessly relied on counter-attacks and limited chances.

After four minutes of injury time, the Gambian referee Bakary Gassama, blew the final whistle of the match.,

The Egyptian giants were eliminated in the group stage after finishing third with six points.
