CAIRO – 25 May 2018: Mohamed Salah will resume fasting Ramadan once the final of the Champions League between Liverpool and Real Madrid ends, Salah’s physical trainer said.

His physical trainer, Rubén Pons, who was being interviewed by Spanish radio station Cadena SER, confirmed that Salah will not fast in Ramadan for three days [Thursday, Friday and Saturday] so that it does not affect him in the encounter of the final.

"We were in Marbella and the nutritionist established a work plan," he said. "For three days including the day of the match he won't, so it's not going to affect him."

It has been reported that Salah refused to break the fast for the final in Kiev and that he would train on an empty stomach. But it is permissible for the fasting Muslim to break their fast if they travel, and that is Salah’s case.

Salah has had a stunning debut season with Liverpool, scoring 44 goals in all competitions, including 32 goals at the league that crowned him the Premier League top goal scorer.

The 25-year-old shined this season at the UEFA Champions League, scoring 10 goals at the competition. His best performance came against his former club at the semi-finals first leg when he scored two goals, provided two assists to lead his team to win 5-2.

The Egyptian King is expected to be one of the contenders for the Ballon d’Or award especially if he manages to win the Champions League title.
